Meet The Team!

Dynamic Performance and Therapy is a community of experienced Physical Therapists in the La Crosse and Onalaska area who believe in a holistic approach to your healthcare and offer a fresh approach to help you move, feel, and live better! We coordinate your care with your healthcare team, such as your provider, personal trainer, coach, or anyone guiding you on your path to better health and performance.  

 

Dynamic Performance and Therapy provides preventative, rehabilitative and performance therapy for those experiencing pain, injury, or movement dysfunction. We are committed to achieving optimal results for our patients by providing the most up-to-date manual therapy techniques and corrective exercises.

Meet Diane Klos!

Diane received her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1986 and her Master's degree in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1989.

 

Diane combines her education and her 30 years of experience as a physical therapist with her fitness and performance knowledge to provide her clients with a well-rounded approach to movement and relief from pain. Diane has worked at Gundersen Sports Medicine Physical Therapy for 25 years and served as a clinical director, staff physical therapist, clinical educator and residency mentor. Her experience involves working with recreational, college and professional athletes, as well as working with the Olympic athletes at the 2002 winter games.

 

Diane shares a passion for quality patient-centered care. She has a special interest in empowering individuals to maintain or improve their current level of health. She specializes in Pilates-based rehabilitation, acute and chronic neuromuscular injuries, relief of joint or muscle pain, arthritis, pre-post operative rehabilitation and performance enhancement.

Diane believes in a “hands-on” approach to restoring joint mobility and reducing pain by providing skills in manual therapy (joint and soft tissue mobilization, dry needling) with education.

Meet Matt Haberl!

Matt graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA in 2004 with his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training and Exercise Science. While at Simpson College he became Certified in Strength and Conditioning through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Interested in continuing professional growth he went on to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program graduating in 2008. Here he had the opportunity to complete a clinical internship with the United States Coast Guard.

 

Dr. Haberl then completed his Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Training in 2010 and his Fellowship in Manual Therapy with Evidence in Motion in 2012. He specializes in neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. He offers a unique perspective to restoring an individual’s optimal pain-free movement with the use of the Functional Movement Screen, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, integrating a variety of different manual therapy, as well as assisted soft tissue mobilization complimented with a variety of corrective exercises.

Outside of the sports rehabilitation and enhancement, he does specialize in more persistent pain populations including chronic low back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome.

Meet Marci Skemp!

Marci received her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science from St. Catherine University then continued on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the same institution.

 

Marci has six years experience as a physical therapist, working two years in Kirksville, MO and three years in Bradenton, FL and has now been with the Dynamic Team for over a year.

 

While in Florida, Marci became specialized in vestibular rehabilitation and treating all types of dizziness disorders.  Marci provides treatment with evidence based protocols to reduce and eliminate dizziness symptoms and to restore balance. Marci also received a certification in concussion management and treatment from the American Institute of Balance.

 

Marci provides a comprehensive patient centered treatment, always aimed at reaching patient goals. Marci also has a special interest in women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Meet Jake Dorshorst!

Jake joins the team after graduating from UW-La Crosse's DPT program and he brings many years of experience working in the fitness, weightlifting, powerlifting, and strength and conditioning fields. 

 

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), CrossFit Level 1 Coach, and Clinical Athlete Weightlifting Coach. 

 

Jake brings a passion for helping those limited from continuing to workout, train, or compete at their highest level. His goal for each patient is to keep them moving and doing what they love.

Meet Christine Lee!

Christine attended Touching for Health School of Professional Bodywork in the San Joaquin Valley of Northern California and began her massage practice in 2005. She graduated from Viterbo University in 2017 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology and recently earned her associate degree for Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from Western Technical College. Christine had the opportunity to finish her PTA clinical rotation at Dynamic Performance and Therapy and joined the team in May of 2020.

 

By focusing on structural integration, myofascial release, and deep tissue techniques in her massage practice, the most logical step has been for Christine to integrate manual therapies (such as joint mobility and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization) and corrective exercises utilized as a Physical Therapist Assistant to reduce pain and improve motor function to help clients meet their goals.

 

Christine aspires to help clients and patients reach their goals through patient-centered practice. She has a special interest in helping people who feel uncoordinated learn motor control and therefore improve functional movement. She is also interested in fall prevention and improving balance across the lifespan.

Meet Michael Borst!

Mike is a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer, coach, and runner. He attended UW-La Crosse for his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and doctorate degree of Physical Therapy (DPT).  While earning his physical therapy degree, Mike practiced throughout the La Crosse area as a Certified Athletic Trainer at many high school athletics programs as well as with college athletes at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.  

 

Along with athletics, Mike enjoys working with runners to help them to achieve their goals and ensure that they can continue to explore the world one step at a time. As a running coach, Mike guides runners all over the country with training, strength, and racing strategies. Mike is very passionate about his own running, competing as a Silver Star Nutrition Athlete at many local, national, and international races, ranging from 5k to 100-mile ultramarathons. Along with his own running, Mike is an active member of the midwest running community. He is a volunteer in the local community and is one of the race directors for the Hixon 50, La Crosse’s only 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k race.

 

Mike has a strong interest in hands-on physical therapy, utilizing soft tissue mobilization, manipulations, and dry needling. Mike is also interested in helping to improve chronic injuries along with preventing injuries. Future goals entail continuing to learn best practices to better serve his patients and pursuing board certification as either an orthopedic or sports clinical specialist.

Meet Hanni Cowley!

Hanni is in her 14th year of practice as a Physical Therapist.  She has a well of experience as a PT including orthopedic outpatient, private practice, fitness center, aquatic, sports, skilled nursing, and biomechanical research settings.

 

Dr. Cowley has been fortunate to have experience as an associate professor at UW-La Crosse and as a mentor in both Sports and Orthopedic residency programs.  Hanni is dedicated to providing superior, individualized treatment in a small-town setting.

 

Hanni is passionate about health and wellness.  In 2006, she became a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association.  She enjoys assisting athletes with injury prevention, recovery, rehabilitation, and maximizing performance.

 

Her passion then extends past athletic competition to include every individual seeking to make changes and improve their health. Hanni specializes in helping people with medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, autoimmune conditions, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, Parkinson’s Disease or arthritis. Hanni is a resource to help motivate you on your movement journey and will work with a team of other health care providers to maximize health. Many symptoms of chronic conditions can improve or even be reversed with movement. “No matter your past experience, you can succeed.  You are never too old or too sick to start!”

Meet Emily Sturomski!

Emily attended UW - La Crosse for Exercise and Sports Science Fitness. She has been a fitness professional at several facilities before joining Dynamic as a personal training and front desk administrator. 

 

Emily enjoys working with clients at all levels and starting with them wherever they are on their fitness journey.  She recognizes the importance of movement at every stage of life and wants to help bridge the gab between where clients are at and where they would like to be. 

 

Recently she has completed a Prenatal and Postpartum certification to help individuals who are pregnant, have recently had children, or are years postpartum safely and effectively maintain or get back to activity.
