Run better. Recover smarter. Stay injury-free — at every distance.
Running injuries are frustratingly common — but most are preventable. Whether you're chasing a new PR, returning to running after injury, or trying to understand why something always hurts at mile 4, a professional running assessment gives you the answers other approaches miss.
Our running specialists combine clinical physical therapy expertise with real competitive coaching experience. Dr. Mike Borst is a physical therapist, certified athletic trainer, and running coach who has worked with athletes from 5Ks to ultramarathons.

We start off-treadmill — evaluating hip strength, mobility, core stability, and foot mechanics to understand your baseline before watching you run.
We observe and record you running at your typical training pace, analyzing cadence, foot strike, hip drop, arm drive, and trunk control.
We walk you through exactly what we see — what's working, what's contributing to your symptoms or slowing you down, and why.
Specific cuing corrections, drills, strength exercises, and if needed, a referral for footwear or orthotics. Everything is practical and training-compatible.

Most running gait analyses are 20-minute video reviews. Ours are full clinical assessments built by a physical therapist who coaches runners competitively. Dr. Mike Borst understands training loads, race preparation, and what it takes to balance injury recovery with performance goals — because he lives it.

Any runner who has a recurring injury, is returning from injury, feels like something is 'off' in their form, or wants to run more efficiently. You don't need to be in pain to benefit.
Wear your typical running shoes and gear. If you rotate multiple pairs, bring them — footwear tells us a lot. Any previous imaging or injury records are helpful too.
Plan for 60–90 minutes. We take time to do it right. You leave with a thorough understanding of your mechanics and a specific, actionable plan.
Absolutely. Mechanical inefficiencies don't just cause injury — they limit your economy and pace. Many runners see significant performance gains from gait corrections and targeted strength work alone.
Yes. We offer remote programming tailored to your goals, race schedule, and current fitness — built by a physical therapist and coach who understands injury risk management alongside performance.
This is exactly who we're built for. Recurrent injuries almost always have an underlying mechanical or training load cause that hasn't been identified. We find it.
Whether you're building toward your first race or chasing a new personal best, we'll help you get there without breaking down.
